I am a kind hearted, patient and compassionate person who is wanting to help students grow academically. Having recently graduated from the IB Diploma Programme with 39/45, I have fresh and in-depth knowledge of the IB curriculum (both MYP and DP). I am eager to help students achieve academic excellence through clear explanations, effective study techniques, and exam-driven strategies. I would be looking to teach English, Math, Social Studies/ Individuals & Societies or music to students who primarily take the IB curriculum but students who take other curriculums are also welcome. Hi, my name is Charlie. I am a recent graduate of the IBDP graduating from ESF Renaissance College Hong Kong class of 2026. I took Global Politics, Chemistry and Biology at Higher Level and Maths AA, Spanish ab Initio and English Language and Literature at SL. Having two full years of experience with the IB, I possess a clear understanding of the student’s perspective, academic frameworks and exam techniques. Furthermore, the IB has recently undergone substantial curriculum overhauls across Biology, Chemistry, Global Politics and English Language and Literature. As I have successfully completed these updated courses, my knowledge, exam techniques and teaching styles are perfectly aligned with new standards. Currently, I hold conditional offers from CUHK and HKU medicine. I have a student-centric approach and I always tailor my teaching towards the student’s problems. This ensures we target specific issues and allow for concrete understanding. Additionally, I possess a concept first approach followed up by emphasis on how to apply such knowledge within the exams. I also find it fundamental to decode the criteria to ensure the student understands exactly what the demands of the questions are. As a tutor, I always urge my students to send me any problems or questions outside of class to further tailor the lesson towards the student's needs.

I’m Jeremy Yeung Chun Ming, and I'm now enrolled in the University of Hong Kong, studying Social Sciences. I graduated from the IB programme, and my favourite subjects were English and Theory of Knowledge. As of now, I already have about a year's experience of tutoring. I taught both homework courses for primary students as well as DSE English one-on-one classes. I mainly taught students on how to handle Paper 1 “reading"and Paper 2“listening". Speaking on my philosophy as a teacher, I believe that the key to ensuring a student's success is their input in class. Aside from being able to complete questions correctly, students should be encouraged to voice out their thoughts regarding how to tackle a question or a text, and relate them to their experiences in the subject. As an example, if a student doesn't know what “agriculture" means, I would ask them to evaluate which“type of speech” it is, and communicate with them on how to tackle the question even without knowing what the word itself means. This way, students will have to face questions while at their current ability. Even if I translated the entire text of a ‘Paper 1' to them, it does not mean that their English ability or vocabulary has increased, nor does it mean they would be able to understand the next Paper 1 text they come across. Whether it's in a tutorial session or in the school classroom, I believe learning is a process that involves interactions between both teacher and student, and the input of the student matters equally to that of the teacher.
